Fraternities at Michigan State University
Welcome,
My name is James Tucci and as the President of the Inter-fraternity Council, it is my honor to introduce you to everything that the Greek Community, here at Michigan State University has to offer. The Inter-fraternity Council (hereafter refer to as the IFC) is the major governing body of all 25 fraternities with chapters at Michigan State. Many years have passed since Michigan State's first fraternity was chartered over a century ago however the camaraderie and fraternal bonds created and shared by these organizations is still just as evident today as it was more than 100 years ago.
It is our duty to those who we represent, to foster, create, and empower an atmosphere conducive to the development of the individual, while achieving integration of our community.
Our community operates under four simple ideals called our pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and friendship, and each of these four ideals makes up the backbone of fraternity life at Michigan State University. We are students and our primary focus at MSU is receiving a world-class education. We also provide a wealth of educational and leadership opportunities to develop skills necessary for success in future endeavors. We give back to the community through a multitude of philanthropic and service events. Finally, we establish a vast social network by introducing people of common ideals and values.
The decision to join a fraternity is a lifelong one, and with it will come lifelong benefits, all with the hopes of building better men, preparing them to be productive members of society and in the process creating friendships that will last a lifetime. We encourage you to explore our website and please feel free to contact us with any questions which might arise.
With one year of service as the Vice President of Administration in 2007, I continued my service as the 2008 President. I write this to you today, with a team of gentlemen that form the Inter-fraternity council that is second to none. I am joined by Mr. Grant Attenberger who is my right hand man, and an Army within himself ensuring that all regulations and judicial policies are strictly enforced to ensure the highest quality of Greek life aboard Michigan State University. Grant and I are joined by eight other members from various fraternities throughout Michigan State, and together we vow to ensure, quality, leadership and scholarship within the Greek Community.
Should you have any questions comments or concerns, please feel free to contact me, or any member of the IFC leadership team. I would like to personally welcome you to explore our houses and find the one that matches, for I assure that there is one.
Fraternally,
James E Tucci
