About Chi Omega at Michigan State University

Chi Omega is the largest women’s fraternal organization in the world with 240,000 initiates and over 170 collegiate chapters. The Xi Gamma chapter here at Michigan State University was founded in 1926. To the ladies of Xi Gamma, Chi Omega is much more than an organization. It is a place for fun and friendship, an opportunity for leadership and service, and most importantly, a family. Whether we are preparing for a night out on the town, lounging in front of our big screen TV, enjoying Friday morning brunch or attending our weekly chapter meetings, 229 Burcham is a second home to every Chi O at Michigan State.

Philanthropy Event: Karen King Kickoff

Make-a-wish is a foundation that grants the wishes of children with life threatening diseases. Every year in October, Chi Omega hosts a soccer tournament to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This philanthropy event began eight years ago when a friend of a chi omega was murdered in a senseless act of violence. All the money that is raised is donated to Make-a-Wish in memory of Karen King.
