About Alpha Gamma Rho at Michigan State University

Members of Alpha Gamma Rho believe in building better men through academics, excellence, and leadership. Alpha Gamma Rho is a professional-social fraternity for men pursuing careers in the food, fiber, or life sciences industries. Alpha Gamma Rho was established nationally in 1904 and at MSU in 1922. Today Alpha Gamma Rho boosts 66 active chapters nationwide, with a chapter at nearly every major agricultural college and Land Grant University.

The world needs a few good men. The kind of men who lead by the example of their character and the value of their actions. For more than 100 years, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity has successfully endeavored to make such men – taking the best and making them better by helping to harness the power within each man to achieve his potential.

Philanthropy Event: Alpha Gamma Rho Hog Roast

Every fall semester AGR host its annual Hog Roast to raise money to support the Michigan AgrAbility Project, which helps people with disabilities employed in agriculture continue to farm and live independently. Also throughout the year AGR participates in many other smaller events to benefit other philanthropies and charities.
